PRESS INVITATION
BRUSSELS VOICE ‘22 : THE DAY OF THE INTERNATIONAL BRUSSELER
Monday, April 25, 2022 — 1 in 3 people living in the Brussels-Capital Region has the nationality of another country, but International Brusselers cannot vote in regional elections. Brussels Voice, the platform launched by commissioner.brussels and State Secretary Pascal Smet, is giving these vital members of our community a say in the policies which impact their daily lives. Through the project Live here. Speak, hear. more than 1300 International Brusselers have developed a manifesto with 22 policy proposals for a better Brussels. Their ideas cover everything from voting rights to housing costs, from safer streets to more accessible public services.
At Brussels Voice ’22, the Manifesto of the International Brusselers will be presented to Members of the Brussels Parliament and regional policymakers. We will see which proposals could be implemented and learn more about the future of democratic participation for International Brusselers. The press are welcome to interview speakers and audience members.
You can explore the proposals and download the manifesto on the Brussels Voice website:
