Press invitation: programme of Brussels architecture week and visit to 2 interesting projects
The organisers invite you to the presentation of the programme of Archiweek and to attend an exceptional visit to the Victoria Tower and the Arc-en-Ciel school.
Monday, October 4, 2021 —
The Brussels architecture week “Archiweek” will take place from 10 to 19 October.
State Secretary Pascal Smet, urban.brussels and the Archiweek curators invite you to a press event on Tuesday 5 October at 4 pm to present the Archiweek programme.
This event will take place in the Victoria Tower. The former IBM headquarters is currently being transformed into a multifunctional project (with hotel, offices, co-working spaces, restaurant and a rooftop bar with a stunning view of the city).
After an introduction to Victoria Tower, a tour included, the nearby Arc-en-Ciel school will be visited. This school is also a very interesting project from an architectural point of view
Practical information:
Time: Tuesday 5 October at 4pm
Location: Victoria Tower - Place Saint-Lazare, 1210 Saint-Josse-ten-Noode
This year’s curators (Roxane Le Grelle, Dieter Leyssen, Alessandro Cugola and Chloé Nachtergael) will present the theme of this edition: “Unlearning” How can architecture both support and inspire people to adopt these new habits, for example required by climate change, and make them enjoyable at the same time? That is the central question.
We have selected 20 projects in the city that successfully address this challenge. Many of them are usually closed to the public, but they will be opened during Archiweek.
