REMINDER: Press invitation: Hôtel Van Eetvelde, Art Nouveau masterpiece, opens its doors
Exceptional opening of Hôtel Van Eetvelde to the general public, inauguration of the restored dome and launch of “LAB-An”, an Art Nouveau interpretation and promotion centre
Brussels State Secretary for Heritage Pascal Smet has the pleasure of inviting you, on Monday 15 May at noon, to a preview of Hôtel Van Eetvelde, which will open its door to the general public. You will also have the opportunity to discover the extraordinary dome restoration and LAB-AN, the new Art Nouveau interpretation and promotion centre. LAB-AN was created after the Brussels-Capital Region purchased the extension of Hotel Van Eetvelde. That project is part of Art Nouveau Year, an event jointly organised by urban.brussels and visit.brussels.
In addition to State Secretary for Heritage Pascal Smet, at the initiative of the project, the federal Minister in charge of Beliris, Karine Lalieux, Brussels Minister-President Rudi Vervoort, Minister of the Image of Brussels, Sven Gatz, and the president of the non-profit association Culture et Patrimoine will also participate in the press conference. They all supported the project.
Reminder: Built in 1895, Hôtel van Eetvelde is one of Victor Horta’s most important designs. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000.
You will have the opportunity on 15 May to be among the first to discover the unique dome restoration. Through a guided tour, you can explore all aspects of this Art Nouveau masterpiece, including a visit to LAB-An and its contemporary approach of this Brussels, Belgian and international heritage.
